Extra Information
- This is a manual-ranging multimeter; select a range higher than the expected value before taking a measurement.
- Use the COM and VΩmA terminals for voltage, resistance, diode and low-current measurements within the marked input limits.
- Use the dedicated 10A terminal only when measuring current on the 10A range.
- Resistance, diode and transistor testing must only be performed on de-energised circuits or disconnected components.
- The NCV function is an indication aid and should not be treated as definitive proof that a circuit is safe to touch.
- CAT II applies to measurements on suitable circuits directly connected to low-voltage installations, such as appliances and portable equipment, within the meter's marked limits.
- Always inspect the multimeter and test leads before use and follow the operating instructions.
Pro Tips
- If the expected voltage or current is unknown, begin with the highest suitable range and work downward for a clearer reading.
- Check the test-lead positions before every measurement, especially after using the 10A current terminal.
- Measure voltage in parallel with the circuit and current in series with the load.
- For resistance testing, isolate the component and discharge any capacitors before connecting the probes.
- Touch the test probes together before resistance testing to confirm that the leads and meter respond correctly.
- Use the NCV function as an initial screening tool, then verify circuit status using an appropriate contact measurement.
- Turn the rotary selector to OFF when the multimeter is not in use to help preserve the battery.
How to Use
- Inspect the multimeter, test leads, probes and input terminals for damage before use.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal.
- Connect the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal, or to the 10A terminal only when the 10A current range is required.
- Turn the rotary selector to the required measurement function and begin with a range above the expected value.
- Connect the probes correctly to the circuit: in parallel for voltage or resistance and in series for current.
- Read the measured value on the digital display and select a lower range if improved resolution is required.
- Disconnect the probes from the circuit before changing between incompatible functions or moving the red lead between input terminals.
- Turn the selector to OFF after use and store the multimeter and test leads safely.
