Strop or hone frequently during use to maintain a sharp edge.

Pro Tip

For tight mortises or slides, hog out bulk with the 19 mm, then clean up edges with narrower chisels.
After glue-up, use the 19 mm to push off excess glue, then clean up finer with a block plane or smaller blade.
