P800 should not normally be used to remove deep P400 scratches that have not been properly worked through; progressive grit selection gives faster and more consistent results.
Pro Tips
- Use P800 only after deeper defects and scratches have been removed with the appropriate preceding grit. Very fine abrasives are designed to refine a surface, not to correct major imperfections.
- Follow the paint, varnish or coating manufacturer's recommended grit sequence. The correct final sanding grade depends on the finishing system being applied.
- Avoid excessively large jumps between abrasive grits. Scratches from an earlier coarse stage can be surprisingly difficult to remove with P800.
- Centre the disc carefully and align all extraction holes with the sanding pad to obtain maximum MULTI-JETSTREAM 2 performance.
- Use a compatible Festool dust extractor whenever possible. P800 creates extremely fine sanding dust that is best captured directly at the source.
- Use light sanding pressure. Excessive pressure can increase heat, reduce pad movement and make fine finishing less consistent.
- Keep the sanding pad flat against broad surfaces to maintain an even P800 scratch pattern.

How to Use
